Apartment Therapy Big Window Challenge

I love a good challenge. And despite the actual challenge being for the designers from Apartment Therapy, Bloomingdale’s and Elle Decor, it was certainly one for me too! Photographing the windows at Bloomingdale’s is not the easiest thing because of the lights from across the street and traffic. Especially when it is January and you have a very tight deadline the next morning! I never would have guessed I’d have to chase off a bunch of sidewalk and window washers threatening to obscure my view with water beads. 450 portraits in one day

It was a challenge, but the shoot went off without a hitch! I was part of a team of 9 people who photographed 450 people for their company website last Wednesday. Mostly during a 3 hour window in the afternoon. The shoot took place at National Harbor just outside of Washington DC. It is a really neat place with a fantastic hotel, tons of great restaurants and an indoor atrium with gorgeous view of the Potomac. Here’s part of the team after the long day:
