Britten + Christoph : Mandeville Lakefront Wedding

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

They met in Paris. She’s American, he’s German. After years of living in Europe, they decided to move to America and get married in her hometown of Mandeville, Louisiana. The venue was a private home along Lake Pontchartrain. It was suppose to be 100% rain that afternoon, but it managed to stay fairly dry so the ceremony was attempted outdoors. Of course, just as the first bridesmaid and groomsman made their way down the path, it started to pour! Everyone ran to the porch where the ceremony was actually held despite the rain stopping. I know many brides would have been upset by this, but Britten was totally calm! They just wanted to be married.

We were lucky to get a sunset over the lake for portraits and there wasn’t a single drop of rain after that brief downpour! Throughout the house there were photos of the couple in different places in Paris and Eiffel Tower centerpieces on tables.

I had an especially nice time conversing with some of the guests in German! I lived in Berlin for two years, so any time I get to practice is just awesome. So, Herzlichen Glückwunsch Britten und Christoph!

Annalise + Scott: Brooklyn Engagement Session

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

I had such a great time with Annalise and Scott for their engagement shoot in DUMBO, Vinegar Hill and the Brooklyn Bridge. We even had a celebrity sighting! They are getting married in New Orleans in March, but live in Brooklyn, so just the perfect couple for me!

Scott recognized actress Beth Grant on the right, as we left the bridge. She was kind enough to take a picture with us. Such a New York moment….. :)
