The Modern Book is the leather flush mount style album that I offer. Each page is designed as a whole, printed on photographic paper and then mounted on sturdy board and bound. Pages are also sprayed with a clear coating to resist fingerprints and moisture. The album comes in a variety of premium leather colors, sizes and page numbers. We work together on the design, and I don’t print until you are happy with the layout!
This is the album from Desirée and Mike’s Vermont wedding.

I’ll admit, I am not a huge fan of bridal shows. (In fact, I’m not a huge fan of the word “bridal” either….) But when I heard about The Wedding Party by Martha Stewart Weddings magazine and The Wedding Library I couldn’t resist checking it out. As you can imagine, this has got to be one of the most fabulous shows in the country given the location, The New York Palace, the promoters, of course, and the price tag, $75! But it was worth it. There was Q&A with Darcy Miller of Martha Stewart Weddings, cake goddess Sylvia Weinstock, designer Lela Rose and more including a runway show by Kleinfeld. Vendors with samples galore: gelato in a cone, gelato on a stick, cake, cocktails and champagne, risotto and on and on. It was all a bit overwhelming and in some places rather crowded, especially near the cake giveaway! I heard one bewildered Dad tell his daughter, “Just consider this your wedding”. Perhaps that is why men ought to leave the shows to the ladies, they just don’t have the stamina for it! Just kidding, guys.
The vendors that caught my eye were:
Romero Designs – Photo jewelery, bouquet pins, bridesmaids or parent gifts
Navy and Lavender – Welcome totes and boxes by city, cool favors, baby and pet gifts
Taylor Creative Weddings – I’d love to see a wedding utilize the horse with a lamp shade I saw. (see below) If they have that, I’m sure they have whatever you might be looking for to dress-up your venue.
Mélangerie – Unique stationary, welcome bags, wall art, wedding signage. I love their Wedding Genealogy Charts. What an elegant way to preserve your guest list.
Elan Artists – I watched a few of the artists represented by Elan perform medleys of their repertoire and it was fun watching them change tunes so fast. I really loved Carte Blanche. They have an amazing look and really sound great.
Mr. Boddington – The elusive stationer. Really beautiful invitations and cards.
Ron Ben Israel – Lace wedding cake. Amazing.
Hello Super 8 – Cool retro videography
In the very heavy gift bag I found several pieces of beautiful Thank You cards by Martha Stewart, of course, and Crane’s. Excellent, because I have lots of people to thank! Also a beer koozie stamped with “Bride to Be”. Not sure what I will do with that. If you want it, email me.

Growing up I never really had a favorite color, but in the last few years I’ve become quite fond of purple. Naturally, it always pleases me when I get to photograph a purple themed wedding. Here’s a few images from 2010 weddings.

(Top to bottom, from left to right: Blueish purple hydrangea bridesmaid bouquets, retro purple flower tie with orchid boutonniere, purple wedding shoes, hydrangeas in vase with fans, wedding cake with purple flowers, purple ribbon on candle and matchbook favors, orchid on a menu, Initial “A” with purple ribbon, flower girls with fairy wings)

I’m very excited to have gotten a package in the mail from Cypress Albums this week. My new portfolio box has arrived! It holds 20 matted 11×14 fine art prints. But the boxes can also hold albums too and I hope to get a sample of their Iris book really soon. They have quite a few lovely offerings, see their website here. And the different fabric and ribbon options are so pretty. I hope to be getting lots of mail from Cypress in 2011!
