Last January 1 I had no idea I’d become a mother in 2011. That was the biggest change for me this past year and I’m still adjusting to the idea that I have a daughter! I’m sure 2012 will have plenty of changes and surprises in store for us, personally and professionally, but I know it will all be sweeter because Josephine is in our lives. Somehow I will figure out how to run a business from home, take care of her and still make dinner. (I love to cook!) And hopefully still get to do some of the other things I like to do as well.
Professionally, I’m shifting my focus to weddings in the New York area. While I have loved returning to my hometown so frequently, having a kid will make that much harder. Not to say I won’t do weddings in New Orleans, but I imagine it will be less frequent. I’ve also been flirting with the idea of adding children’s photography to my business as well. (I always said I wouldn’t do that until I had one of my own!) We shall see what 2012 has in store!
For now, I am looking forward to photographing my first post-pregnancy wedding in February in New Orleans during Mardi Gras!

Our Christmas present came a little early this year! It has been a wonderful holiday season getting acquainted with our little girl and spending time with family and friends. Josephine is named for her great, great great, and great great great grandmothers! And also to honor her late paternal grandfather, whose middle name is Joseph.

Perrie and Adam were all set for a lovely late summer wedding at the Bowery Hotel in Manhattan this past August, only mother nature had other plans. As Hurricane Irene barreled up the East Coast, I couldn’t believe it! I’m no stranger to hurricanes, but New York, really??? The call to postpone the wedding was made the day before and I was just so lucky it was rescheduled for October 15, the only fall date I had open! I guess sometimes things just work out in the end. Perrie and Adam got to take their honeymoon to Greece before their wedding and the new wedding day had prefect weather and lots of fun!

Karla and Abby had a very New Orleans style destination wedding for about 50 of their closest family and friends. It was such a fun wedding and I know the brides attention to details – from their custom luggage tags, to the beads, masks, glow sticks for real Mardi Gras like party at their reception – was well worth the effort. Everyone had a great time and I’m so happy for the couple. (And I’m so happy I could keep up with them during the second line despite being about 8 months pregnant! :)
It was so lovely for me to get a chance to indulge in Muriel’s fare as well, from the shrimp crepes to the stuffed fish entree, it was a real treat. (Feed your photographers people!!! We really appreciate it. And Muriel’s staff was especially helpful to me as well. :) The doberge wedding cake was a fantastic finish. But it didn’t stop there. The favors made by a friend were handmade chocolate truffles, with tasty centers including peanut butter and jelly.
Thanks Karla and Abby!!!!

Our baby is due on 12/7 so I want to make sure I’ll have time to fulfill orders no matter when he or she decides to come! After that date, please email to see what the estimate turn around time will be. Thanks!!
