I had so much fun photographing Missy and Phil’s wedding at Cabrini Chapel and Galatoire’s! It was the first of many gorgeous October Saturdays (and one Sunday) I was lucky enough to photograph in New Orleans. For an intimate wedding (I’d say less than 40 or 50 people) Galatoire’s was a fantastic, very New Orleans choice and the food is top tier. One of my favorite moments was Phil’s surprise at the elaborate groom’s cake from Zoe’s of the New Orleans skyline. While I often see groom’s cake of sports teams, Missy had them translate his love of New Orleans into something unique. And it smelled amazing!!!!! (Sadly, I left before it was cut. Maybe a good thing. :)

I didn’t even notice the tear rolling down Missy’s Dad’s cheek until I was editing. Such a beautiful moment between father and daughter. It is such a privilege to capture these.

Here’s part one of my week with Missy and Phil! We did their engagement session a few days before their wedding in City Park. You can never go wrong ending a shoot with canolis at Angelo Brocato’s!

Christine and Kyle met during medical school at Tulane and now are married! Following a portrait session in Audubon Park, the intimate wedding ceremony took place at the Windsor Court Hotel. I just love photographing at the Windsor Court, it is one of my favorite hotels in New Orleans and the food is always amazing!

Awhile back I got to photograph Kristi and her beau Cale in a really fun and creative engagement session at their home in New Orleans and in City Park. The couple thought up several different stories to enact for the camera making it more like an editorial fashion shoot than a typical engagement session! But I can tell by the way they created the stories, assembled clothing, and props, they are truly a great team! And that is what marriage is all about. :) And now I also know that a cupcake maker exists!
I know Kristi from way back. Her parents lived across the street from my grandmother, so I’m sure our first meeting was as babies! (And my Granny says Kristi’s mom liked my name, so perhaps, I was her name inspiration? Then again, there are lots of Christy, Kristy, Kristi, and Kristies etc out there :) We met again in college when we both joined the same sorority. Of course I’m really excited to be a part of Kristi’s wedding to Cale in October!
